A Community Celebration at the Castro Theatre — and a Huge Success for Our 20th Anniversary!
On Friday, February 6, the Castro Theatre lit up once again — coming back to life for the first time in two years! Following a remarkable $41 million restoration and renovation, the Theatre reopened its doors to host the Castro CBD’s 20th Anniversary celebration and fundraiser.
The evening kicked off with a festive ribbon cutting, the rousing sounds of the SF Pride Marching Band, and inspiring words from community luminaries, including Senator Wiener, Mayor Lurie, and Board of Supervisors President Mandelman. We capped it all off with a special screening of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert — the perfect film for a truly iconic Castro night.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to our generous business sponsors and individual donors who made this celebration such an incredible success. We couldn’t have done it without you — here’s to the next 20 years!
