Letter from the ED
The Castro is hopping with activity this fall.
First off we have The Seed lighting! October 27th 8pm, Jane Warner Plaza.
The Seed is the Castro’s newest public art and will be featured in the Jane Warner Plaza for 3 years.
The Seed consists of six, thirteen foot tall abstract flowers and represents the wishes that blow through the air as one wishes on dandelions. These wishes for equality settle in the Castro and represent the spreading of hope for equality and justice. Lighting of The Seed is on October 27th @8pm: experience the lighting, meet the artists, participate in your neighborhood, enjoy coffee and dessert.
November 8th at 6pm in Harvey Milk Plaza we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Harvey Milk’s election with the grand lighting of Harvey’s Halo and Hope Will Never Be Silent. Two signature works of public art created by Illuminate (creators of Bay Lights and Conservatory of Flowers Summer of Love)
The first Thursday of the month, October 5th, November 9th and December 7th 6-9pm the Castro Art Walk continues. Walk your way through the creativity of the Castro! #castroartwalk
November 16th 6-8pm is the Castro CBD’s annual social and fundraiser at Blackbird. Don’t miss this popular neighborhood event, bring your friends and neighbors!
See you in the ‘hood!
