Upper Market Safety Project Open House

Upper Market Safety Project Open House February 28

Over the past two years, the SFMTA has studied potential turn restrictions and other signal phasing changes aimed at improving the safety and efficiency of the corridor between Castro Street and Octavia Boulevard. The open house will provide an opportunity for Upper Market stakeholders to review and discuss the proposal with members of the project team before they finalize recommendations and seek approval from the SFMTA Board later this spring. Details of the draft circulation study are available for download from the project website ‘Documents’ panel.

The open house will also provide an opportunity for people to weigh in on potential public realm upgrades – including but not limited to lighting, landscaping, seating, and other street furniture – that could accompany the sidewalk and traffic signal improvements slated for construction in 2019/2020. Public Works has dedicated approximately $500k for such improvements and has prepared visual aids and a survey to help structure public input and promote the identification of shared priorities.

Date & Time: Wednesday, February 28, 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Location: Cafeteria of Sanchez Elementary School (325 Sanchez Street)

Drop in anytime. Food and refreshments will be provided.
